Gerald Everett Jones - Biography
Gerald sometimes feels he is a Renaissance man, which might just mean he was born 500 years too late. At various times, he has been a businessperson, a technologist, an historian, a creative artist, and an all-around professional thinker and worrier. His business and computer books have sold over 50,000 copies worldwide and have been translated into many languages, including French, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Korean, Thai, and Mandarin. Gerald has launched a book development company that packages business and technical books, as well as companion DVDs and reader-support websites. He is an accomplished screenwriter, having studied in Lew Hunters master class at UCLA. He has been a semi-finalist in the Nicholl Fellowship Competition of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and a semi-finalist three times for the Chesterfield Writers Program. In fact, he actually won a writing competition once. When he was in the fourth grade, the Kansas City Public Library awarded him two tickets to The Wizard of Oz for his insightful essay "Why Most People Like Tom Sawyer." In the spring of 2001, based on a feature script competition, he was selected to participate with nine other writers in the annual Scriptwriters Lab sponsored by the Independent Feature Project/West. He lives with his wife, actress and stand-up comedienne Georja Umano, in Santa Monica, California. Georja is the producer and host of the Georja and Marcello Show, a television skit-comedy talk-show that people can watch with their dogs. Marcello is a cute and charming Jack Russell Terrorist.
